Fishing, Nature Trails and Picnic Shelters, opened to the public in 1936 the Park boasts 312 acres and nearly a mile of beach. Day visitors will find picnic facilities, pier and surf fishing, nature and activity centers, boardwalks, and a playground. The park is open year round from 6 am to 10 pm.
 
Yawkey
South Island Ferry 10 miles SE of Georgetown at the Intercoastal Waterway. Take a 3 hour tour around the Cat Islands and South Island. Look for deer, alligator, ducks and eagles.
 
Waccatee Zoo
The zoo is 500 acres of private carefully preserved wooded property. You will find over 100 species of animals, a natural wild life sanctuary and a breeding ground for many species of migratory birds. You'll meet such characters as a soap opera watching chimp to herds of buffalo. There are petting areas for children, young and old; it's a relaxing escape for the whole family.
